This is a video and shot and edited to document Powerful Voices annual all-girls conference, Girlvolution. It was wonderful to be a part of such an amazing cause and meet so many powerful girls. This video was shown at the Day of the Girl Luncheon in Fischer Pavillion and is featured on the Powerful Voices Website. Summary: On April 23, 2016, Powerful Voices’ presented Girlvolution 2016, its 7th annual youth-led, social justice conference. The Girlvolution conference invites the community to participate in collective dialogue and restorative change through workshops developed by girls in Powerful Voices ActiveVistas employment program, and is the organization’s largest community engagement event. Since 2012, Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse and Teen Center at Rainier Vista has helped sponsor the venue for Girlvolution, and each year the event creates more opportunities for youth under 21 and youth serving organizations including schools, community centers, and non-profits to participate in a youth artists showcase, resource fair and bring groups to attend workshops.
